I don't won't to give to much away I just can't describe how great this movie is, Don't always listen to the critics they blindside you and in some ways can ruin your experience of critics always condemn Sequels especially Horror, when I read through reviews some of their responses for why IT chapter 2 is bad don't make sense. The film also makes creative decisions that I feel were necessary for the new adaptions especially in relation to Beverly's husband Tom, and Bill's wive Audra who's roles are much smaller in comparison to the novel, but the flow would have been ruined these characters had followed the book. I really liked the ending and the final battle, it it was a vast improvement over the ending in the miniseries, and even though ITs my favorite book, the sequel does a better Job at improving the somewhat bland ending. I really love the ending and ITs true comprehensible form. And a nice nod to "The Thing" roughly 3/4 of the way through. The scares in this movie are more refined than the first with more dread rather than jumps and shocking violence towards Children and Adults especially in the opening scene. The story this time is told at a much quicker pace despite the long runtime especially this can be felt at the start with the phone calls only lasts not even 10-15 minutes, this can feel a bit rushed while the de-aging effects in the flashbacks can look a little bit like a remastered version of the polar express especially in regards to Finn Wolfhard who has aged a lot since 2016 when It chapter 1 was filmed. Speaking of the book keep an eye out for Stephen King who makes a cameo as an antique shop clerk while director Andie Muscuitti makes one in Keenes pharmacy. It chapter 2 brings new and interesting changes from the book. This movie bought the duology to an fantastic close which is bound to being a few years, even to fans of the book who already know what happens. This movie also answers many questions in terms of Pennywise's origins even though one scene felt a little rushed towards the start. Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise not only improves from It chapter 1 but knocks it out of the park when it comes to creeping you.
Teach Grant as Henry Bowers and Andy Bean as Adult Stanley was also great despite their limited screen time but with Adult Stanleys scenes becoming very important and Heartwarming. The adults bring an extra dimension and makes you actual believe these are the same kids grown up. The Adult losers chemistry is as connective like as the kids with flashbacks reminding us how fun they were. The performances are amazing, if I had to choice between favorites it would be Bill Nader, Jessica Chastain and James Mcavoy ace the movie with Richie's jokes and quirks stealing the show, not to discredit the others they are phenomenal to but those 3 are just my personal favourites. IT chapter 2 continues the story 27 years after The losers club fought against it and forced it into a early hibernation now IT is back to face of one last time with The Adult losers as they return to Derry to finish what they started.įirstly the film is an amazing conclusion to an epic story with an epic runtime not that it ever feels like it.
